Wheel removal, tire service, finish, and reinstallation

⸻ A complete wheel and tire experience

One vehicle drop-off.

One coordinated service.

Bring us the complete vehicle instead of coordinating wheel removal and tire service at separate shops. Our in-house team can remove the wheels, dismount the tires, prepare and refinish the wheels, remount and balance the tires, and reinstall everything when those services are included.

We begin with an inspection and a conversation about wheel condition, curb rash, tire needs, color, sheen, vehicle use, and timing. Qualifying projects dropped off during the designated morning window may be completed the same day.

A CLEAR PATH TO A BETTER FINISH

01

Share the vehicle and wheel details

Send photos, vehicle year and model, wheel size, curb-rash details, tire needs, and preferred finish so we can advise you on scope and timing.

02

Inspection and final quote

The wheels are inspected in person to confirm their condition, required preparation, finish, and final pricing.

03

Remove, dismount, and prepare

When included, we remove the wheels and dismount the tires. Existing finish is stripped or blasted, suitable curb rash is repaired, and each wheel is cleaned and pretreated as needed.

04

Apply and cure

Powder is applied for even coverage and cured under controlled conditions to create the finished surface.

05

Reassemble and return

After inspection, tires are remounted and balanced, wheels are reinstalled when included, and the vehicle receives a final quality check. Qualifying scheduled jobs may be ready later the same day.

⸻ Wheel Powder Coating FAQ

QUESTIONS ANSWERED,

PROPERLY

These answers cover the practical details customers ask most often. For exact pricing or project compatibility, contact the shop for a personal recommendation.

The cost to powder coat four wheels depends on wheel size and width, condition, preparation, finish selection, and wheel construction. Curb-rash correction, old coating removal, and tire-service arrangements can also change the scope. Send photos, wheel dimensions, vehicle details, and your preferred color to Proper Motion for an estimate; final pricing follows inspection.

Wheel powder coating is an oven-cured, dry-applied finish; painting uses liquid coatings. Powder coating is often chosen for an even, durable finish on metal wheels, while paint may suit a different repair or appearance goal. Neither description replaces an inspection: wheel condition, desired color and sheen, prior finishes, and intended use all matter when selecting a refinishing approach.

Powder coating can be paired with cosmetic curb-rash and surface-correction work before the new finish is applied, but it is not a substitute for a structural wheel assessment. Proper Motion inspects each wheel first. Share close photos of rash, gouges, bends, cracks, or prior repairs so the team can confirm what preparation or repair is appropriate.

Tires must be removed from the wheels before powder-coating preparation and curing, but you do not necessarily need to handle that work yourself. Proper Motion's turnkey wheel service can include complete vehicle drop-off, wheel removal, tire dismounting, refinishing, tire remounting and balancing, and wheel reinstallation. Confirm which steps are included when approving the quote.

Wheel powder coating does not have one guaranteed lifespan. Durability depends on wheel condition, surface preparation, the coating system, driving exposure, curb impacts, cleaning, and maintenance. Proper Motion can inspect your wheels and recommend an appropriate finish for their condition and intended use. No coating prevents routine wear or impact damage, so follow the shop’s care guidance.

A durable wheel powder-coating result begins with inspection, cleaning, and surface preparation; not simply spraying color over an old finish. Proper Motion assesses condition, addresses suitable surface damage before coating, applies an even industrial-grade finish, controls curing, and completes a quality-control inspection. Preparation needs vary with existing coating, corrosion, curb rash, construction, and overall wheel condition.

Proper Motion offers gloss black, satin or matte black, metallic silver, metallic bronze or gunmetal, and custom-color options. The best wheel finish depends on the look you want and how you use the vehicle: glossy surfaces highlight reflections, while satin and matte finishes create a lower-sheen appearance. Ask to review availability and the best option for your project.

Yes. Same-day wheel powder coating is Proper Motion's primary specialty for qualifying jobs dropped off during the designated morning window. The team can remove the wheels and tires, refinish the wheels, remount and balance the tires, reinstall the wheels, and return the vehicle later that day when the approved scope and wheel condition allow it. Confirm eligibility before drop-off.

Wash powder-coated wheels after they have cooled, using mild soap or a finish-compatible cleaner, water, and a soft cloth or brush. Remove brake dust regularly and avoid abrasive pads, aggressive chemicals, or polishing products that can change a matte or satin appearance. Follow the shop's care instructions and the cleaner manufacturer's guidance for your specific finish.

Proper Motion's powder-coated wheel finishes include a lifetime warranty against peeling or cracking. The warranty does not cover curb rash, scratches, chips, impacts, chemical damage, road damage, neglect, or other physical damage to the wheel or finish. Review care requirements and the complete warranty terms with the shop when approving your wheel-refinishing project.
