⸻ METAL POLISHING & CHROME PLATING in Santa Fe Springs, CA

Your metal has potential.

WE BRING IT OUT.

A wheel face or metal accent can change the look of the whole vehicle. We brush suitable metal for a controlled, directional satin grain, polish it for a brighter reflection, or chrome plate eligible parts for a plated finish. All three services are performed in-house at Proper Motion.

We inspect the material, existing finish, and damage before recommending a direction. You'll know what the work involves and what appearance to expect. If a project needs additional capacity or specialized support, we coordinate with a partner and remain your point of contact from quote through pickup.

⸻ METAL POLISHING, BRUSHING & CHROME PLATING FAQ

QUESTIONS ANSWERED,

PROPERLY

These answers cover the practical details customers ask most often. For exact pricing or project compatibility, contact the shop for a personal recommendation.

Brushing gives suitable exposed metal a directional grain and softer satin sheen. Polishing refines the metal to a smoother, brighter reflection. Chrome plating adds a separate plated finish to an eligible part. We inspect your existing finish and material, then explain the preparation, appearance, and care that come with each option.

We chrome plate eligible wheels and automotive metal parts in-house. Material, wheel construction, size, prior finish, and damage all matter, so we inspect each part before accepting it for plating. If your part needs specialized partner support, we'll arrange and manage that as part of the quoted project.

Dullness and surface film may respond to finish-appropriate cleaning or polishing, but polishing cannot replace a chrome layer that is peeling or flaking. We inspect the existing plating and underlying metal, then explain whether the part calls for polishing, preparation for replating, a different finish, or replacement. We won't promise a mirror result over damaged metal.

We quote the actual part. Size, material, existing finish, pitting, scratches, damage, quantity, and preparation all affect the work. Polishing and chrome plating are priced as different processes. Send full-part photos, close-ups of problem areas, dimensions if available, and the look you want; we'll review the job and provide a clear scope and quote.

We assess scratches, curb marks, pitting, and failing chrome before recommending brushing, polishing, or replating. Some cosmetic marks can be addressed during preparation, but a brushed grain will not conceal every defect. Deep pitting, missing material, cracks, or bends may need a separate repair evaluation or make the part unsuitable. We inspect before promising a result.

No. Polished aluminum shines because we prepare and refine the metal surface. Chrome is a separate plated finish applied to a suitable, prepared part. If you're not sure what is on your wheels, send photos or bring them in. We'll identify the finish before recommending work or cleaning products.

Polishing and chrome plating involve different preparation and finishing steps. Timing depends on the part's condition, quantity, finish, current shop schedule, and whether partner support is needed. We'll give you a project-specific timeline before work starts. The same-day wheel powder-coating offer does not automatically apply to polishing or plating.

Yes, we can coordinate an eligible wheel-finishing project with tire work when that is included in the quote. Tell us the wheel size, tire needs, existing finish, and the look you want. We'll confirm whether tire removal, mounting, balancing, and wheel reinstallation are part of your project rather than assuming every wheel needs the same service.

Let the wheels cool, wash road film and brake dust with a mild cleaner suitable for the actual finish, rinse well, and dry with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemicals. Bare polished metal and chrome plating are not cared for in exactly the same way; we'll tell you which finish you received and give you the right care guidance at pickup. The 5-year warranty against peeling and cracking applies to qualifying powder-coated

wheel finishes, not polishing or chrome plating.
